Do you even have a fun fact, bro?
Over the years, I’ve come to understand that stating “I’m left-handed” is not actually considered a “fun fact.” This is judging by the silent responses I’ve received when prompted to introduce myself and give a “fun fact.” Apparently, it’s just a fact. However, I do think I would receive better responses if there were more lefties in the crowd. Statistically speaking, we only make up ~10% of the population (no, I did not know this off the top of my head – I Googled it to impress you). What kind of righty is going to, actually, be enthralled by nature’s anomaly of left-handedness? #rightprivilege
Anyways, I have to wonder, are most people just sitting on a trove of “fun facts,” like Smaug sitting on his pile of gold? Additionally, why do I have to impress adult strangers/co-workers with a “fun fact?” At least when I’ve been made to do team-building exercises (ie, the human knot – literally the most asinine activity, invented by an obviously sadistic individual), I just had to hold sweaty hands and make weird eye contact with strangers. In hindsight, maybe the weird eye contact was voluntary, on my part. I think, perhaps, a more fitting name for “the human knot” would be “the voluntary human centipede.” Haha – I’m totally joking but, I mean, the human knot is actually the worst.
Step into the cat cafe, of my mind
Hello, and welcome to my “little corner” of the interweb. My name is Linnea and, sometimes – oftentimes, there are too many thoughts in my head. I’m also, somewhat, introverted which makes for an interesting combination –> too much thoughts in head but no thoughts coming out of mouth. As a result, blessed internet strangers, you get to read the “run-off.” One of my best friends described my writing style as “charming” and my in-person style as “socially clumsy.” I felt so seen. If you don’t have a friend like this, find one ASAP.
Things to know about me:
–> I, truly, love the Lord. Let me just say, it’s been a process…He has remained faithful, steadfast, and by my side even when I’ve wandered. I have so many areas, in my life, that are broken but He’s working on me (despite me being a #blessedjackass). When I’m tempted to think of myself as “trash,” God lovingly reminds me that He will be the racoon to my trash. If you don’t understand the analogy, let me clear it up for ya. Racoons LOVE trash! They literally lose their fuzzy little minds for trash and will go to the bottom of dumpsters to seek it out. Make sense? Also, please NEVER think of yourself as “trash.” God made you in His image. God doesn’t make trash.
–> Other things I love, in no particular order: pop punk music, fashion, coffee & pastries (pretty sure my blood is just straight-up Americano (blood type A) at this point), running, making dorky little crafts, and more! You’ll have to read future blog posts to see what other silly little things I’m getting myself into.
–> Like I said, above, this blog is really just a space for me to put my silly, little thoughts to paper. It’s not here to instruct, advise, or rage-bait. Sidenote, I think I would be really good at writing rage-bait titles. Here’s one that popped into my mind today: “Are star-shaped acne pimple patches actually the mark of the BeAsT?!” #ABEAUTIFULMIND. Heh heh heh – I’m clearly joking, please don’t come at me! It’s just my demented sense of humor – like, I feel exceedingly confident that I could’ve written headlines for “The National Enquirer,” in another life. Anyhoo, if you happen to glean even the slightest amount of encouragement/entertainment, from my posts, I would be beyond thrilled and I’m grateful to you for stopping by.
I’m no writer…
Apologies, in advance, for any poor grammar/punctuation you come across in my posts. I’m just placing my thoughts (which tend to be rambling, slop) on paper. You can rest assured that these entries will not be peer-reviewed and submitted to PubMed. Unless you think they should be, then totally let me know. As my dad once said, “Their grammars are so bad!” Please measure my blog by this grammatical standard. As an aside, having an ESL parent is a uniquely lovely and hilarious experience.
